SUMMARY:
According to established policies and procedures, oversees and coordinates the work of the radiologic and mammography technologist(s) within the office assigned. Is available for problem solving and trouble shooting mammography QA at all sites. Interacts with the Radiologist, referring Physicians and staff as required. Regularly performs all functions of a technologist.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mammography QA Managers are working managers. They may schedule and assign technologist duties within the department to ensure efficient patient flow and the best possible service.
Provides assistance with problems, acts as a liaison between the technical staff, other staff and the site manager.
In conjunction with the Site Manager, is responsible for ensuring that supply inventory is maintained at adequate levels at all times.
Responsible for ensuring that quality assurance is consistently performed and accurately documented daily or as required, and remain within MQSA standards and report any problems to the Site Manager. Acts as a resource to all lead technologists regarding mammography issues. Is responsible for keeping abreast of current Federal and State standards.
Responsible for assisting all sites with Mammography ACR accreditation processes and FDA inspections.
Assists with orienting and training new technologists/mammographers and/or radiology technologist assistants. Is responsible for completing any related paperwork.
Monitors the quality of images within the department and reviews concerns with the Site Manager.
Participates and provides input into performance appraisals with the Site Manager.
Continually sets the example of professionalism, flexibility and high levels of patient care.
Must possess general knowledge of equipment, its location and vendors. Responsible for keeping the Site Manager informed of any equipment problems.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrates all the skills required of a staff radiologic technologist and mammographer. Demonstrates all skills necessary to perform mammography QA.
Possesses the interpersonal skills and abilities to manage, organize and motivate staff in a manner which insures meeting of corporate goals and objectives.
EXPERIENCE:
A technologist with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a mammographer, with the demonstrated ability to handle increased responsibility. Must possess two years experience in performing mammography QA under the MQSA Standard.
